How the new laws work...

The Connecticut Senate has now passed the Palliative Use of Marijuana Act by a vote of 21 to 13, after a nearly 10-hour debate. Governor Daniel Malloy signed the bill, which took effect on October 1, 2012. The remaining provisions on registering new patients, caregivers, pharmacies and producers as well as establishing a Board of Physicians is in the hands of the Department of Consumer Protection. They have now outlined the steps to take for registering for patients as well as applying for dispensary licenses. Patient Certificates are now available and the first dispensaries have opened.
