How the new Laws Work....

The Connecticut Senate has now passed the Palliative Use of Marijuana Act by a vote of 21 to 13, after a nearly 10-hour debate. Governor Daniel Malloy signed the bill, which took effect on October 1, 2012. The remaining provisions on registering new patients, caregivers, pharmacies and producers as well as establishing a Board of Physicians is in the hands of the Department of Consumer Protection. They have now outlined the steps to take for registering for patients as well as applying for dispensary licenses. Patient Certificates are now available and the first dispensaries are expected to open in early 2014.

This law is now in effect and is being governed by the CT Department of Consumer Protection. Temporary Registration Certificates are now available using the DCP's simple 3 step process. For more information on how to register, visit their website here.

The State of CT has now approved applications for 4 grow facilities. Congratulations to the four companies to win licenses, Advanced Grow Labs, LLC in West Haven, CT.; Connecticut Pharmaceutical Solution, LLC. in Portland, CT.; Curaleaf, LLC. in Simsbury, CT. and Theraplant, LLC. in Watertown, CT.
